Holland America Line On-Time and On-Budget with Latest Dry Cleaning Conversions

December 20, 2006 Barrie, Ontario, Canada -  Winning Brands Corporation (Pink Sheets: WNBD) www.WinningBrands.ca  announces that Holland America Line (HAL)  cruise ships ms Volendam and ms Zaandam have now been converted from on-board Dry Cleaning to a Wet-Cleaning, non-toxic alternative, on time and on budget.    HAL gave Winning Brands notice in October 2006 that it intended to expand use of Winning Brands’ Solvent Free Solutions Team™ to replace conventional Dry Cleaning systems.   Seven Holland America Line ships now use Wet-Cleaning. The emerging on-time and on-budget pattern of the Holland America Line conversions will be encouraging to the cruise industry as it looks for a reliable alternative to on-board Dry Cleaning.  Holland America Line has been an industry leader in developing a non-toxic garment cleaning strategy.  The most recent conversions give it special experience because of the growing number of persons being served in this manner.  Approximately 15,000 - 20,000 passengers and crew at any given time are now being served without resorting to the use of any Perchloroethylene whatsoever.  Perc is a widespread Dry Cleaning solvent whose phase-out has been recommended by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and other organizations because of its adverse environmental and health effects.

The replacement technology is a strategic alliance between Miele’s North American sales offices for the equipment and Winning Brands Corporation as the manufacturer of the advanced non-toxic cleaning agents.  Implementation is managed by the group’s Solvent Free Solutions Team™ based in Ontario.  Ships converted by the team can clean all “Dry Clean Only” garments with the company’s advanced non-toxic cleaning agents and plain water instead of Perc. There are no harmful chemicals or effluent.

The Solvent Free Solutions Team™ (SST) provides a “one-stop shopping” approach for the cruise ship operator to deliver speed and convenience.   The group’s mandate is to plan all conversion activity to take place during a single cruise where duration permits.  The ship leaves its port of origin with Dry Cleaning on board and arrives at its final port with a completely converted Wet Cleaning operation instead. All mechanicals, training and supply is done on the vessel, live.  In the case of the ms Volendam and ms Zaandam, SST support personnel were present on board from San Diego to Aruba as well as Ft. Lauderdale to Curacao ensuring a smooth transition.

Winning Brands Corporation manufacturers the proprietary cleaning agents for the system used aboard the Holland America Line vessels and works through its Solvent Free Solutions Team™ with industry leaders such as international appliance manufacturer Miele to bring these solutions to the field.  Winning Brands and Miele are targeting the conversion of all cruise ships internationally and land based Dry Cleaners.   Winning Brands also manufactures other environmental cleaning solutions for home and business applications to replace hazardous chemicals in widespread use with safer alternatives.
