First Exports to Europe of Solvent Free Solutions

 

(May 8, 2006)  Barrie, Ontario, Canada -  Winning Brands Corporation (OTC: WNBD - PK) announces that it has completed its first commercial shipment to Europe of advanced new cleaning solutions to help the international drycleaning industry replace its widespread use of hazardous solvents.

 

The new cleaning agents are designed for use in a next generation of professional fabric care called “Wet Cleaning” instead of drycleaning because of the use of clean water as the carrier of the new active agents instead of Perchloroethylene. “Perc” is  a solvent known in the industry to be toxic and non-biodegradable.

 

Bioglobe Industries is the distribution partner for Winning Brands Corporation to this sector in Europe.  Bioglobe President George Loney states that “…the regulations passed in California and other jurisdictions internationally are going to bring profound benefit to the industry, consumers and the ecology of the planet by mandating the replacement of toxic solvents in drycleaning processes”.    Winning Brands Corporation manufacturers proprietary solutions for the new regulatory environment and works with industry leaders such as Bioglobe and international appliance manufacturer Miele to bring these solutions to the field.  The group is targeting the conversion of 100,000 drycleaners internationally, whose Wet Cleaning solutions requirements will be worth approximately U.S. $1 Billion annually.  The group’s first European conversion to this proprietary combination is in Tipperary, Ireland.   Several sites in Canada and USA are now operational and processing “Dry Cleaning Only” garments safely with water and the new specialized cleaning agents.

 

Winning Brands CEO Eric Lehner says that the vast scale of converting an entire industry as widespread as drycleaning to the new eco friendly method is as good for business as it is for the environment.  “It’s a sweeping change for a new generation and will bring enormous satisfaction and rewards to all parties involved”.
